Coast Guard crews, local authorities recover 3 near Wildwood, N.J.

WILDWOOD, N.J. - The Coast Guard along with local authorities recovered one child reported deceased, one child reported responsive and a 28-year-old woman reported unresponsive Tuesday near northern Wildwood, N.J., after they were swimming on the beach.

Names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Coast Guard received a call at 6:13 p.m. from the Wildwood Beach Patrol reporting the incident while they were searching for the woman.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May, N.J., a rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Townsend Inlet, N.J., and a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., aided in the search.

All three people were transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel.
