Multi-agency BUI demonstration
Agencies step up Boating Under the Influence enforcement

Coast Guard Station Portsmouth, Va., crewmembers conduct a simulated field-sobriety test during a Boating Under the Influence enforcement demonstration at the station Tuesday, June 23, 2009. This demonstration informs boaters that law enforcement personnel will be focusing their efforts on BUI as part of Operation Dry Water June 26 to 28. The multi-agency event included representatives from the Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Virginia Beach Police department marine unit, Newport News marine police, and the Marine Incident Response Team.
