VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A computer analyzes data from Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard Charles W. Bowen's body as he runs on a treadmill in a booth at the Coast Guard Innovation Expo in Virginia Beach, Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008. The computer calculates a person's oxygen efficiency and can provide a workout routine based on the approximate capabilities of a person's body.

The Aviation Technical Training Center in Elizabeth City, N.C., is using the system to optimize rescue swimmer training. The data tells instructors if they are over exerting students.
